Decklette turns a spare or companion display into a live gaming dashboard and control surface. These docs describe the current beta behavior and its boundaries.
Beta note: Decklette is evolving quickly. Back up important profiles before testing new builds and only load profiles you trust.
Quick start
1. Design in Edit Mode
Open Decklette and arrange tiles on the workspace canvas. The visible Stage is the part that will appear in Deck Mode. Items outside it remain useful as drafts and parked components.
2. Add the signals you care about
Use telemetry tiles for CPU, GPU, memory, FPS, audio, network, storage, display, battery, and hardware values available on your Windows system. Unsupported sensors show as unavailable instead of pretending to have a reading.
3. Start Deck Mode
Choose Start Decks to open the active Stage in a clean runtime window. Place it on a secondary display, choose fit-window or actual-size behavior, and keep the editor out of the way.
Controls and actions
Button Grids provide compact command surfaces for media, Windows actions, applications, URLs, page navigation, profile switching, and other supported actions. Imported profiles can contain actions that affect Windows, so Decklette asks for confirmation before loading a profile.
Use the Content inspector to choose a bundled icon, label, alignment, and action. Keep high-impact actions visible and easy to understand, especially when a deck will be used while gaming.
Profiles and local data
Decklette stores the active workspace and settings locally on Windows. Profiles use the .decklette extension and can be saved or loaded through the native file dialogs. Keep backups of profiles you care about.
Network and privacy
The current beta does not require an account. Optional features can use the network: weather uses Open-Meteo, GIF search uses Klipy when configured, icon search uses Iconify, and browser embeds contact the sites you choose. Your workspace is not uploaded by default.
A complete privacy policy, support contact, and release security policy will be published before paid beta access opens.
Support
Support email is being configured. Until it is published, use the project contact listed on the Decklette website and include your Decklette version, Windows version, and a minimal reproduction. Do not include secrets or private workspace files.
